Mother and daughter The Akha live in Thailand, Laos, Burma and Yunnan, but originate from Tibet. The dangling silver ornaments are characteristic for Akha people. Bridge over the River Kwai The infamous bridge over the River Kwai (or Khwae) is part of the 'Death Railway' to Burma, build by prisoners of war during the Japanese occupation.
